Rajasthan Camel CaravanRajasthan Camel CaravanDuration: 19 Nights / 20 DaysDestinations Covered: Delhi - Bikaner - Jaislamer - Jodhpur - Udaipur - Aurangabad - Mumbai Day 01: Delhi Begin your Tour. Arrive into Delhi Welcome to Vardhman's 'Rajasthan Camel Caravan Tour' On arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative to your hotel. Overnight Hotel. Day 02 : Delhi This morning after a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed for the sightseeing of Delhi. Combined city tour of New Delhi & Old Delhi Visit Qutab Minar, Humayun's tomb, Lakshminarayan Temple, a modern Hindu Temple, Parliament House, Government Secretarial Building and Connaught place, the shopping centre of New Delhi. Visit Red Fort, built in 1648 by Mughal Emperor Shahjehan, Jama Masjid, one of the largest Mosque of India, Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana, the cremation sites of Mahatama Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. Also drive past Chandni Chowk, shopping centre of Old Delhi. Overnight Hotel. Day 03 : Delhi - Bikaner Transfer to the Railway station for morning train to Bikaner. 0910/2100 hrs. Arrive Bikaner and transfer to your prebooked hotel. Overnight Hotel. Day 04 : Bikaner - Phalodi We begin our journey to the desert. Drive to Phalodi through the Thar desert and then to the first camp, where our camel safari begins next day. Overnight : Camp Day 05 : Phalodi - Camp I We board the camel caravan this morning travelling much the same way as the ancient nomads of this land. Stopping along five way, we have time to explore remote desert villages before reaching Camp I. Overnight : Camp Day 06 : Camp I - Camp II The journey continues through the Thar Desert. Enroute we can see a variety of flora and fauna. Overnight : Camp Day 07 : Camp II - Camp III We pass through Pokaran this day and visit Pokaran Fort. The yellow sandstone fort rises up out of the yellow desert sands. We have time to explore the Fort before the caravan continues on to Camp III. Overnight : Camp Day 08 : Camp III - Camp IV Safari continues through the desert. Overnight : Camp Day 09 : Camp IV - Camp V We stop today at several villages to explore the Hindu and Muslim communities living in the desert. Overnight : Camp Day 10 : Camp V - Camp VI Caravan continues further visiting several villages across the mystique of the Thar desert. Overnight : Camp Day 11 : Camp VI - Jaisalmer Drive to Jaisalmer which is known as the "Golden City" because of the colour imparted to its stone ramparts by the setting sun. Visit the fort in the afternoon . Overnight at Jaisalmer Day 12 : Jaisalmer This morning proceed for a full day sightseeing of Jaisalmer City tour of Jaisalmer. The Golden City - Jaisalmer. It is in the heart of the Great Indian Desert. Its temple, fort and palaces are all built of yellow stone. The city is a mass of intricately carved buildings, facades and elaborate balconies. Visit the JAISALMER FORT - The oldest living Fort in the world..See the Patwon-Ki-Havelies, Salim-Singh-Ki-Haveli and Gandhi Sagar Tank. Also visit Barabagh Hill. In the afternoon, proceed to the SAM SAND DUNES for visiting the typical Rajasthani Desert Village. Overnight at Jaisalmer Day 13 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur This morning drive to Jodhpur, situated on the western edge of the Thar Desert and is one of the princely state of Rajasthan. Visit the city Visit the Mehrangarh Fort, situated on a low sandstone hill, including Moti Mahal and Phool Mahal. Also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble memorium built in 1899 and the Museum located in the Umaid Public gardens. Overnight Hotel. Day 14 : Jodhpur This morning visit to Villages to see the village culture. Afternoon at leisure at your own pace. Overnight Hotel. Day 15 : Jodhpur - Ranakpur - Udaipur Drive by surface for Udaipur enroute visit Ranakpur and the Sun Temple. The Ranakpur Jain Temple was built during the reign of the liberal and gifted Rajput monarch Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. The basement is of 48,000 sq. feet area that covers the whole complex. There are four subsidiary shrines, twenty-four pillared halls and domes supported by over four hundred columns. The total number of columns is 1,444 all of which are intricately carved with no two being alike. The artistically carved nymphs playing the flute in various dance postures at a height of 45 feet are an interesting sight. In the assembly hall, there are two big bells weighing 108 kg whose sound echoes in the entire complex. On arrival transferred to the Hotel. Overnight Hotel. Day 16 : Udaipur In the morning tour of Udaipur City - which may be called Versailles of the east visiting Sahelion Ki Bari, the grandeur of City Palace, the famous Jagdish temple. Afternoon at leisure or on an extra payment a boat ride on lake Pichola with a brief halt at Jag Mandir. Overnight in Udaipur. Day 17 : Udaipur - Aurangabad - Ellora This morning transfer to airport for onward flight to Aurangabad. Afternoon excursion to Ellora caves 30 kms away and known for sculptural excellence and a complex of 34 caves including 12 Buddhist 17 Hindu and 5 Jain caves. Overnight in Aurangabad.. . Day 18 : Aurangabad - Ajanta This morning full day excursion to Ajanta Caves (103 kms) known for its unique painting on the walls & ceilings of the caves. Ajanta caves unlike Ellora are magnificent rock-cut Buddhist caves consisting of the Monasteries and five temples. Overnight in Aurangabad. Day 19 : Aurangabad - Mumbai This morning transfer to airport for onward flight or train to Mumbai. Afternoon half day city tour visiting the Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Hanging Gardens and the Prince of Wales Museum. Overnight in Mumbai. Day 20 : Mumbai Morning excursion to Elephanta caves by boat on an extra cost - an island 9 kms from Gateway of India and reached by a regular ferry service.
